Great Notley Football Club was established in 1997
and has grown steadily ever since. Today the Football
Club is an integral part of the Great Notley Village
community running over 20 teams and supported by over
300 players. At present we take on players at the Development
stage (Age 4-5) and run youth teams at all ages up to under 16.
We will also have an adult side which gives players a platform
to enter the adult game whilst remaining with GNFC.
A factor in the Club's continuing success has been the clear vision that has been shared by
the Managers, Coaches and Committee members that drives the club forward in a uniformed fashion.
The club believes that children are the most valuable asset that we will ever have the chance to
influence and as a club we are just one part of a child's education and social development.
Our vision is to become the best junior football club in the country; by providing first class
coaching and facilities that will develop the talents of the players and coaches to their highest
potential. This has recently been recognised with the award of the FA Chartered Standard Development
club status. We provide a safe & educational experience governed by F.A. best practice criteria and all
of our managers and coaches are FA qualified and CRB checked.
The key aims of Great Notley Football Club are to:
- To Make the game fun to practice and play
- Channel the energies of all our youngsters into the discovery of their football skills
- Develop skilled, confident and creative players
- Teach good sportsmanship and respect for all
- Value winning; but not more than character and performance
- Create a sporting environment within which young players can develop
- Provide a structure and environment to continually develop the skills of our coaches and to utilise the best and most up-to-date coaching methods & technologies
- To create the awareness of the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle and keeping fit in mind and body through playing football
- To help our community to become a better place in which to live and work, by encouraging the youngsters to stay off the street and take part in constructive, enjoyable and educational activities
As the Club looks forward to the new season, there are
several exciting new developments taking shape.
Work has recently been completed on the All Weather Pitch
which has been built at the Country Park (Discovery Centre)
and whilst not for the sole use of the Football Club, it will
further increase facilities for training and playing. We have
engaged the services of 'P.A.S.S. Soccer' to provide development
and entry level training for 4 and 5 year olds joining the club.
We also have close links with the 'Coerver' academy that provide
additional technical training, which is open to all Great Notley
players, we are currently in discussions with two major clubs who
wish to use the club as a platform for expanding their youth
training programmes in the area.
