PUBLIC FORUM

·         Goal unit at Panners – awaiting inspection date from Zurich.  Considerations will be made once safety inspection has been carried out.  To be discussed as an agenda item at next meeting.  Cllr Butland gave his notice of motion for the relocation of the unit.

·         Life Buoy missing again at pond.  Cllr Sandbrook to investigate.  Awaiting confirmation as to who owns the land.  Safety issues highlighted.

Application No: 08/00523/FUL.  Erection of single storey rear extension

Location:  37 Notley Green, CM77 7US  GRANTED

 

Application No: 08/00579/FUL.  Erection of conservatory

It was agreed that from now on the Clerk will e-mail Councillors details from the BDC Planning Applications website on a weekly basis, saving on paper.

DRINKING PLACES ORDER

Cllrs Butland and Sandbrook declared an interest.

Unanimously agreed to support the implementation of the DPO’s.

YOUTH QUESTIONNAIRE

It was agreed that a Sub-group is to be formed consisting of Cllrs Dunster, Sandbrook and Prosser (TBC).  Group to produce a list of objectives, decide how these are to be achieved, identify who can move this forward and also obtain quotes from professional surveying  companies.

GNPC continuing to look into options.  Cllr Butland to investigate.

PUBLIC FORUM PROCEDURE

Issues were raised with regards to the conduct of the Public Forum.  It was unanimously agreed that members of the public will be given three minutes to put forward their question(s) or statement and it will be the Chairman’s decision as to whether he answers or proposes to put the items onto the next agenda for discussion.  This will be trailed for the next 4 meetings commencing 8th July 2008. 

It was also agreed that the order of the agenda will be amended slightly to implement this change.

STREET LIGHTS

A notice was put in the latest edition of the Notley times asking residents to inform the Clerk of any streetlights that are not working so a list can be compiled and repairs carried out by the owners of the lights.

GENERAL CORRESPONDENCE TO NOTE

·         White Courts Skate Park

Cllr Stirland declared an interest.

GNPC is to put forward a proposal to the Headmistress of White Courts School offering to:

1.        Repair the fence

2.        Seek help from BDC with extraction of the undergrowth from the fence boundary

3.        Plant obstructive plants along the fence boundary

4.        Request that the school grass cutter trims the tufts of grass along the boundary

It has been requested that Sue Spittlehouse keep us informed of developments

The next Council Meeting is on the 8th July 2008 at 7.30 pm at the Discovery Centre, Great Notley.
