Council Meetings Unless otherwise advertised, meetings are held on the Second Tuesday of each month, in the Discovery Centre, Great Notley Country Park, starting at 7:30pm. Notice of each meeting and its agenda are posted on the notice boards at Windermere Drive, Ellen Way, Great Notley Avenue, Tesco store, opposite White Court School, and on the Notice Board in this website. Meetings are open to the public and residents can attend and raise questions during the 15-minute Question Time at the beginning of the meeting. Agenda Items Members of the public can write to ask that a particular matter be placed on the agenda for a Parish Council meeting. A request must reach the Parish Clerk at least eight days before the meeting. The item will either be included in the agenda or an explanation why it is not appropriate to do so will be given in writing. Question Time The public may ask questions relating to the working and services of the Council during a 15-minute period prior to the commencement of the official Parish Council meeting. Questions cannot always be answered at the meeting but they will be dealt with appropriately. If a question is to be discussed by the Councillors it will be added to the agenda for the next meeting. Urgent matters may be dealt with at the Chairman's discretion. Minutes of Meetings Copies of the minutes of all meetings of the Council may be inspected by prior arrangement with the Parish Clerk. Copies of the minutes of recent meetings are also posted on this website. Annual Parish Assembly There is an Annual Parish Assembly, normally held in April, at which the Council gives a report on its activities during the year and at which members of the public may make comment, criticise or question the actions of the Council. Notices of the Annual Assembly are posted on the usual notice boards within Great Notley and on this website. Copies of the Annual Report and Accounts will be posted on this website. |
